I saw a comment from somebody asking why FB needs to do this.  If you’re at Yahoo, AOL, or any of the big pubs trying to sell to agencies, you know why they need to do this.  It’s because all the big clients are asking for it as part of the premium ad product that these guys are pushing.

The goal of the partnership is to track whether Facebook ad campaigns are driving in-store sales and to find the common themes among the campaigns that work.
