AOL Reorg Memo- Obvious Focus On Monetization

Finally reading Kevin Conroy’s email from July 14 about AOL’s product and they are looking for new growth opportunities in older, proven niches:

Increase toolbar distribution:  Do biz dev deals to get their toolbar out there to more users.  They get a rev share on paid search monetization, split three ways among them, their distribution partners, and Google.

Desktop app distribution:  Increase the distribution of their ad-supported apps such as AIM by stepping up their marketing efforts (ROI driven)

Monetize email users: Self explanatory
