No Google Toolbar For Chrome- Reading Between The Lines

I think the fact that there isn’t a toolbar for Chrome tells us what Google is thinking–  that search share and distribution is what matters and if GOOG already has the search bar on Chrome, it doesn’t have to spend resources (or can delay the decision) to deliver the other goodies that the toolbar comes with…

One one hand, we should be happy that they are being disciplined about resource allocation.  On the other hand, they are acting more like a corporation.

Chrome is like a giant Google Toolbar that takes up the whole screen, so you don’t really need it. (The Toolbar offers Google search, bookmarks, search suggestions, Web history, and shortcuts to Google apps). But still that’s not the message Google wants to be sending to curious Chrome users.
